Where's the value in SC6 apart from the new mechanics and just a couple new characters? As someone who missed 4 and 5 i find myself wondering why don't i just go buy them for cheap instead of getting 6! And we shouldn't have to listen to bullshit like Tira being more difficult to put in SC6 than any of the other characters they bought across. Yet one shouldn't be at the cost of the other. But for a NEW game, NEW characters are arguably more important. Noone wants to pay more for old characters. They must have their development environment so well tuned to be having all that old content (and more).īut it should be the standard. I really hope the release of Smash Ultimate starts to set a precedent for returning characters (and stages) in fighting games though. "20% complete" but "10 characters is less than half", with maybe 6-8 months of dev time left leaves me hopeful that porting old characters across isn't that difficult for them. The DOA6 characters are looking pretty iterative by comparison, so I'd like to think they can bring all non-guests into 6 without much effort, even on a new engine. I feel like SFV, which really changed up some returning characters can be cut some slack for that. She's never told anyone about her power, but has been itching to test it out in secret.
